The Importance of Community in the Arts
“Community” is mentioned a lot these days whether building it, seeking it, sustaining it, or serving it. In forming LAC we thought a lot about each of those elements. This is how the board members dreamed up our November 12th THRIVE event as a way to encourage community and highlight the work and careers of folks at different levels of experience. While dressed up in 1930s glamorous best, of course!
We invite you to get glam and artsy with us. Here’s the event details:

That’s right, it’s an opportunity to dress up and celebrate! Hear presentations and musical performances, view and purchase original artworks, socialize and make connections. We welcome all arts supporters, emerging and established artists, and anyone curious about how to get involved with art community. Be sure to get your tickets now. We can only fit in a limited number of folks, and you’ll want to stay for the whole thing as opposed to passing through. The Lineup
We are so honored to announce the performers and presenters for this event.

Natalie Mai Hall - musician fusing cello, guitar pedals, and synthesis to create irresistible soundscapes. Natalie will musically interpret the original art displayed at the event.
NV Electronica - electronica project of cellist Natalie Mai Hall and artist Vincent Bachmann.
Esther Loopstra - professional artist, speaker, and creative coach sought after for her expertise in the psychology of flow, intuition, and creativity.
Andrea Paz - Salvadoran mixed-media artist who collects poetic language, expressive drawings, speculative stories, and dreamy photographs.
Kati Simek - multi-disciplinary visual artist and advocate promoting conservation and camaraderie through their project parkpunks.org.
Nina Yarbrough - 4Culture arts program director.
Presenters will discuss their own work in the community and how it has influenced their approach to art. Get ready to hear about a wide range of topics including collage, finding authenticity and creative flow, getting project funding, and how activism can affect a visual artistic journey. We will share features on each presenter via social media leading up to the event, so please be sure you’re following us on Instagram and Facebook.
The Original Art
Original art will be on walls at the Rendezvous for the month of November, so you can see the pieces in person even if you aren’t able to attend the event. You’ll have the opportunity to purchase art during the event or by contacting us to arrange payment for a piece: info@livingartistscollective.com. The Theme
What is 1930s glam? Think art deco shapes and patterns, long gowns, gloves, and suspenders. This is to honor the historic Jewelbox Theater space which was built in Belltown, Seattle in the 1930s and has been kept in its original style by The Rendezvous since then. Many a community event has been held in the space, and we're honored to be joining the list. It's shaping up to be a really exciting evening, and we truly hope you will join us.
